துப்பாக்கி முனையில் ஜனநாயகத்தை திணிக்கும் பார்ப்பன பனியா பயங்கரவாத இந்திய அரசு

வினவு சீன எச்சக்கலை பொறுக்கி கும்பல் எழுதியது என்று நினைக்க வேண்டாம். நான் தான் எழுதியிருக்கிறேன்.

பாருங்கள். பிகார் மக்கள் தேர்தலுக்கு சென்று ஓட்டுப்போட விரும்பவில்லை. தேர்தல் பகிஷ்கரிப்பு செய்கிறார்கள். இருப்பினும் துப்பாக்கி முனையில் பாதுகாப்பை ஏற்படுத்தி புரட்சி வீரர்களை அடக்கி மக்களை ஓட்டுப்போட விடுகிறார்கள்.

இது துப்பாக்கி முனையில் கொண்டுவரப்படும் ஜனநாயகம் என்று இழித்துரைப்பதில் என்ன தவறு இருக்கிறது?

மக்களை பகிஷ்கரிக்க துப்பாக்கி முனையில் மாவோயிஸ்டுகள் ”வேண்டுகோள்” விடுக்கிறார்கள். மக்களும் ஆதரித்து தேர்தலில் கலந்துகொள்ளாமல் இருந்திருப்பார்கள்.

இப்போது இந்திய போலீஸும் இந்திய ராணுவமும் துப்பாக்கிமுனையில் புரட்சி வீரர்களை தடுத்து விட்டதால், மக்களுக்கு துளிர் விட்டு போய் தேர்தலில்கலந்துகொள்கிறார்கள்.இது அடுக்குமா? இது இந்து பார்ப்பன பனியா பயங்கரவாதம் இல்லாமல் வேறென்ன?

சொர்க்க பூமியான சீனாவில் தேர்தலே கிடையாது. அங்கு மாவோயிஸ்டுகள் வைத்ததுதான் சட்டம். புரட்சி பொங்கி வெடிக்கிறது. எல்லோரும் நன்றாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.

இதில் எதற்கு தேர்தல்?

PATNA: Thanks to unprecedented security bandobast, fears of Maoist violence proved unfounded as 50% of the 81.26 lakh voters of 35 assembly constituencies in Bihar's eight districts braved the rebels' threat and exercised their franchise on Tuesday.

Upendra, a youth of Kurtha constituency's Orebigha village, was killed in a shootout between two groups near the village polling station. Another villager was injured. A policeman, Ajay Singh, was killed and two polling personnel and three cops were hurt when the vehicle in which they were returning to Bodh Gaya met with an accident at Tankuppa village.

DGP Neelmani said former minister Aditya Singh along with nine supporters was arrested at Narhat in Nawada for resorting to violence at four booths in Hisua constituency.

The voter turnout went up significantly in the eight districts this time compared to the Lok Sabha elections last year and assembly elections in October/November 2005. According to chief electoral officer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh, the turnout was 41.42% and 39.43% in the last assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections, respectively.

Sheikhpura district recorded 50% polling on Tuesday against 36.62% in 2005, Nalanda 48.8% against 39.93%, Patna 52% against 37.85%, Bhojpur 50% against 45.93%, Arwal 47% against 42%, Jehanabad 52% against 40.68%, Gaya 49% against 38.96% and Nawada district recorded 48% polling on Tuesday against 41.4% in 2005. "At least 17 of the 35 constituencies are affected by Maoists who had given a call to boycott the polls. Yet, voters came out in large numbers," Rakesh said and added presiding officers changed EVMs at 117 booths as the machines had developed snags.

He said JD(U) and RJD workers clashed at Biharsharif, but no one was injured. Four EVMs were damaged in Hisua. Two EVMs were thrown into a pond in Warisaliganj, but recovered later.

DGP Neelmani said police arrested 281 people for disturbing the poll process. The highest number of 74 people were arrested in Bhojpur district and the lowest number of three people in Jehanabad, which is notorious for Naxal activities.

NCP's Jagdishpur candidate Manoj Kumar Rai was arrested with six of his supporters and Rs 21,000 recovered from them near Keshua village. He was moving with his bodyguard and trying to influence the voters, the DGP said.

The CEO said voters boycotted polling at one booth each of Rajgir and Atri and two of Masaurhi and Bodh Gaya. The electorate complained about lack of development in their areas.

Reports reaching here said voters at booth number 148 in Kurtha's Khatangi village in Arwal district also boycotted polling in protest against poor road connectivity, lack of power and poor irrigation facilities.
